Have problems to figure out dept dimensions. Also trying different paste but can not one that you can roll in string to develop certain pleates as on your class big 5 the rhino eyes. And the south african poly fila paste exterior to ruff en the interior one is sticky. No dough consistancy. My cling wrap do not come off when trying pencil tecture for folds. The same with art moddeling paste mont marte. They do not have that nice putty like texture. All sticky. Thus some advice will be appreciated. Otherwise the class was excellent and the presentation very good.

I used to use the Polyfilla when I was in SA, maybe they have changed the formula. To me it sounds like it has more water in it than before. What you can do is leave the container open for a while so that some of the moisture can evaporate. Another thing you can try is to take out the amount you need and let that dry to a workable consistency before adding it to your canvas. Once it is putty like and does not stick to your fingers anymore, then all the techniques will work correctly 🙂

PS – When purchasing your filler from the hardware store, don’t be afraid to open the container to check that it will work right.
