      These are very popular flowers in the garden as they attract lots of birds and butterflies. They are also extensively used as cut flowers.

      There are  over 300 species of Irises and they come in a great variety of colours and combination of colours. About the only colour they don't come in is Black!

      Just travel around and take note of the various kinds and shapes and colours of windows. They differ as much as the personalities of each individual.

      Some windows are just plain ordinary and nothing to talk about, yet, Others have the obvious touch of the woman of the house :-)

      Some have various types of shutters, some have window boxes full of flowers to brighten up the place.

      These deer are not endemic to New Zealand and  were, I believe, imported from the Scottish Highlands some time in the 1800s and then   to the mountainous areas of the South Island.

      I came across these not far from us here in the North Island where they are being bred.

      I thought these stags may make a nice subject for a painting.
