Nonsense Patricia! You did the same thing I did.... sometimes my emails arrive a day, sometimes 2 days late! I didn't even look at my new messages list  (which I normally always do).

Google has yet to respond with why this happens, most likely our internet here... it's like Christmas... I never know if I'm going to get any, what the quality will be like, or how long it will last!  :crazy2:
Cheers, Val

Thanks, Maria.

No worries, Patricia.  I am honored that you wanted to say congratulations so quickly that you set up a TOPIC to do it in.  Nolan will work his magic and all the newsletter emails will go in the same place.

How sweet of you to say that, Sharon.  Actually, people have been asking me to autograph the postcards I give away!

I am so happy about the newsletter.  The TIP I will give in the next issue came right here from PB Forum a couple years ago.  Worth repeating!

:heeha: Yikes! I almost missed your newsletter this week, mea! It got mixed in with advertisements.  :uglystupid2:

What a great edition!  It is packed with interesting information. I love how you showcase various PB members and their work.  :congrats:  Barry :congrats: Liz. It is a joy to see your work in our newsletter.

I am glad that you chose to delve into the topic of copywrite laws. I am going to make it a point this weekend to watch the classes you referenced that cover reference photos and how to use them legally.  O0

I'm already looking forward to the next newsletter!

 :thankyou: mea  :-*

Thanks, KathyS.  We are trying to make the e-newsletter as PB user oriented as possible.  One of the Forum members asked about copyright laws, so we obliged.

I really want members to send ideas (PM me).  Next issue will be the start of a Letter to the Editor space where PB members can write in with an idea or relevant message. (Thanks to Liz for that idea.)

Have a great Labor Day weekend.  We're expecting high surf, wind, and heavy rain from a dying hurricane so it'll be busy here.

I agree. Your doing a great job on the newsletter. And yes, obviously, I am now regularly getting the newsletter. Thanks for fixing this, Mea!

Here's a suggestion. How about an article explaining mediums and what constitutes a painting, drawing, or mixed media.

For example, why does PB consider watercolor pencil a painting and colored pencil a drawing? Both  are drawn using the pencil, but unlike graphite or charcoal, they  are normally worked with a solvent to produce a final product. Would water soluble graphite pencils be considered a drawing or painting? They are worked the same way as watercolor pencils except the pigment is graphite.

Finally, would the use of a 9xxb pencil, which contains some carbon, in a prominently graphite drawing move it from the drawing category to the mixed media category?

The reason I ask is that I've seen drawings in the monthly challenge that were either colored pencil or used the 9xxb pencil and it got me wondering.

I hope you get through the bad weather in good shape. We're expecting some heavy rain later his week from the east coast hurricane. Batten down the hatches!

Thanks, Steve. Great question.  I will work on that for the next issue.

I appreciate your input.

So far, it appears Hurricane Lester will not be too much of a threat.  I hope the same for Hermione in your area.

Excellent edition Mea. Congratulations to  Barry and Liz, Well done all.

I've been keeping an eye out on Lester. Hope he follows the forecast track and clears your immediate area. Keep safe.
