Another note for you Val.... Dunking your brush in your milky coffee doesn't paint accurate shadows either. I now have a lidded sip cup for when I'm painting.  I missed seeing this class, so I'll have to look it up.  I'm still struggling to get back to Dennis's still life pomegranate paint-along, and to finish my pop art lesson from January. Perhaps I should spend less time watching videos of painting and reading about painting. The days are getting short here and I don't really like painting in artificial light. Oops - off subject AGAIN. However reading everyone's comments and seeing your results keeps me encouraged and at it in daylight so thanks to everyone who writes in. I am still having trouble posting my paintings and drawings in the Gallery. Once in a while it lets me put one up. I've emailed Nolan, but I'm not sure if that was the correct way to contact the administrator....Can't put any more reference photos either.

Are you working from a laptop, tablet, or phone? What browser are you using?

Val....Toshiba laptop, also Samsung tablet,, Windows10. I have a feeling the problem might be related to the much maligned Windows10 Photos gallery. so even the mighty Nolan/Administrator might not be able to help. It's frustrating. :tickedoff: Not only do I spend hours attempting to find solutions, but I can't upload into the Encourager Forums to ask for advice.

I usually use Microsoft Edge. A :thankyou: :thankyou:s an aside - I lived on a yachts for nearly 20 years, so I can understand your difficulties. I'm a landlubber these days, but still have grotty yachtie connections.

Linley,

Could it be the size of your photo that is causing the problem?

Since you have Windows 10, open up PAINT.  Have your photo open in PAINT and resize it.

Here's an example.  If I take a photo on my Iphone and send it to my email, it could be as 2.2MB (unless I use the option on Iphone to make it smaller).  If the photo is 2.2MB, then I resize it in PAINT by about 50%, then save it and use it in the PB gallery.

Not sure if that will help, but I felt good being able to share something.

Thankyou Mea, thankyou, thankyou! I really wanted to put that particular picture up. I had to reduce it to 40% before the gallery would accept it.  I didn't know how to use Paint either, so you've really taught me heaps.  I will now photograph some of my wips (works in progress) and submit them to the forum for advice.

Oh, Linley, I am so happy that my suggestion solved your problem.  I really am not very computer savvy.  I just know enough to do the things I need to do.

Looking forward to your photos.

:yippee: Looks like you have the issue solved! Way to go Mea!!!

Linley, we are in our 11th year on PJ, and 19yrs. on our previous boat. Wow, how time flies by. What boat did you have and where did you sail?

Might be a good idea to post your response in the about me section under 'PJ's adventures'. Sorry guys... I know it's off topic but you know how I get about sillyboats!  :boat:       :2funny:
Cheers, Val
