Hope life is good for all. I just recently signed on and I have a small story that led me here, It was late last night and I was having a moment of self doubt (artist's being worst critiques) and could not sleep, I have a show coming up and my mind was working a mile a minute. I got online, and found this color wheel video and it came from PB, it was quite good to say the least, but the memorable part was that it helped me think differently about my doubts and anxieties. I don't know exactly what it was, but thanks for the time spent learning again.

:bigwelcome: Welcome Alx. You have found a wonderful forum of people for support and encouragement. I found Paintbasket by searching on the Internet for drawing videos. After watching the 2 hour intro to the drawing class I knew this was the right group for me. Dennis and Nolan are excellent instructors who have created a warm family-like environment. So glad you have joined us.

Alx,

So happy you found Paintbasket.  It has been a life changer for me.

The instruction is fantastic and the camaraderie among the world-wide membership is fantastic.

Show us what you can do!

Several of you have asked about my upcoming show, well, living here in Virginia Beach there is a great wealth of support for artists. The City holds shows throughout the summer on the oceanfront boardwalk and throughout the different parks. Local artist either rent or own tents and for a fee we get a 10x10 space to setup. I have been doing shows for the last two summers. Last night I got word that I would be next to a very talented artist and my self confidence swayed a little bit. As artists we are our worst critiques and forget that we are doing it for the passion like anyone else and should have faith in our skills and talents. It usually takes me a moment to get it together. As for samples, I have included two pieces for viewing. Thanks for the well wishes.

Alx,

At first I was intimidated when I started doing art exhibits because there were so many well known artists surrounding me.  Some of those artists are no complementing me on my work.  I have found them willing to say what is good and what I can do better.

What I have noticed is that most all artists are good, but for different reasons.

You are GOOD.

If there is anything we can help with, just sing out and someone will be about to lend a hand.   O0
