Thanks, Denise, Mary Lou, and Doina.

Denise -  I hope it makes it into the show.  Just to be safe, I am painting another one tonight, using the photo of a rooster we saw while walking this morning.

Sorry, just read my last message and saw the typos.  Must have been very tired when I wrote that.

Should have written: Am really working slowly on this next one because I want it to be the best one yet.

:2funny: :2funny: I totally understand the need to correct, mea (retired school teacher). Having been a distracted and mediocre student as a child, I went back to school while my children were in school. I discovered that I was more intelligent than I gave myself credit for and adore English and grammar. I often find myself modifying  my posts due to written "boo boos".  ::)

Mea, you are such an inspiration and your pieces are beautiful.  I just LOVE their brilliant colours which really are eye catching.   :gl2:  with your rooster.  Holding thumbs for you.    Patricia

KathyS - Guess you could call us "modifiers."

Thanks, Patricia and Val.

Here's the final.  I titled it, "Something to Crow About."  I ended up tweaking the previous one as the new and best one turned out to be the last and worst.

It's actually a bit brighter than this photo.

Mea:  Your practice paintings are coming along great.  I like the bananas and mangos.  The rooster is very nice.  Keep it up.

Yes, we are committed modifiers, mea!  :2funny:

:smitten: I really do like this rooster. He is a handsome guy. The texture of the background is great. That is created from the hemp? When do you submit it?

Thanks, KathyS and KathyK

While there is a soft texture to the hemp, I used cling wrap for the sky and sponges to create the greenery.

I  sent it to the curator this morning and she said it is a beauty!  So, until I get the "official" acceptance, I am going to assume it's accepted.
