Have been trying small watercolor pieces (Thanks, Trev for the idea to do several on one paper).  Took a while to get warmed up, but felt I showed improvement at the end of the session.

Here are four panels on 18" x 24" paper.  Apple (too out of shape); bananas (not formed correctly at the top); Orange and lemons (getting better); mangos (happier with these.  Had hope that some would turn out good enough to frame - but not good enough yet. (We'' maybe the mangos).

Still haven't mastered doing a signature yet, though.

:painting: fun practice pieces, mea! I agree that the mangos came out the best. That is what practice is all about. Right?  O0

Now that I am learning watercolor, I can appreciate how much goes into getting your fruits to look like fruit. Each one you did got better than the one before. Nice work.

Thanks, Cyril, Zahn, and Kathy S.

Here are two more (peaches and plums; raw egg on a plate)

I can definitely see progress, but still need to draw shapes more accurately.

Geat exercises and fun topics.

Your bowl looks like the one I threw on the wheel. :2funny:   Are those the eggshells  beside the bowl?
Cheers, Annie

Thanks, Jennylynn.  Glad you recognized the eggshells, I think they are too small (maybe they were pullet eggs).

Annie, thanks.  Yes, eggshells.

I see know that it was a shallow bowl, not a plate as I mentioned.

Mea, the egg in the bowl/plate looks like chicken egg but the size of the shells look like the belong to a sparrow or chickeedee.  I realize these are practice but the size doesn't match.

I like the way you painted the shells.
Cheers, Annie

Thanks, Fiona.

Yes, Annie, realized the egg shell was too small after I posted the painting.

Thanks, Steve and Mary Lou.  I need to buy peaches so I can learn to get the shape right.

This rooster painting was a practice piece using a sponged background to create texture.  I think I overworked it, but in general it's not too bad.

Your thoughts for what to do better as I intend to do a similar one on 11 x 14 hemp paper to enter into a juried exhibit.
