you can see that I am still too timid about going dark!!  Doubt I will ever change.

At least you are consistent Patricia! I seem to bounce back and forward with too light to too dark and back again!  :D    ;D

You have done an awesome job on the lion.  O0 Have you tried starting with the next darker pencil? That may help with getting that extra contrast you're looking for.

:heeha: Banner job. Well done.
Cheers, Val

Patricia:  Your lion is great.  Nice drawing.  I like the mane application.

:thankyou: :thankyou: :thankyou: :thankyou:  Win, Val, Tina and Kathy for your lovely comments which are so encouraging and much appreciated.

Val, I am nervous about starting off too dark for it has been drummed into my head to start off light which is easier to erase than going too dark and then finding the need to erase which would be that more difficult. I have to be more daring and give it a go.

Just as an aside Patricia, I started my schooner one pencil darker and carried through from there. It seemed to work for me, perhaps have a go on just a little sketch and see if it helps at all.
Cheers, Val

Thank you for this great lesson Nolan. I did struggle with the clumps but enjoyed the overall results.
