Could someone please tell me if there is a difference between polychromo pastels and soft pastels.

I have a very old box of 72 Faber Castell polychromo pastels, I have had them for a very long time and never fathomed out how to use them, I looked at the PB pastel classes and ran a little of the free class but am still mystified.   :thankyou: in advance  :)

Polychromos pastels are harder and can be used for drawing detail because of their square shape.

You can use them right now for the initial sketching and some of the underlayer before using the soft pastels.
I mislaid my hard square pastels and only just found them again - where they should not have been in the first place.
Sometime in the future I will used them in a soft pastel lesson. O0
