Done on Canson 12" x18" 140lb. C.P. watercolor paper with Golden's Acrylic Ground for pastels for layering and textureal reasons.
I used Rembrandt, Blicks, Mount Vision and some soft pastel pencils by Derwent.
It sat on my easel for a while as I tried to get some atmospheric perspective happening I thought there could be more detail in the cliffs but no because that defeats the purpose of creating "space".
C&C welcome and greatly appreciated!
I almost forgot the green in the painting appears super bright and overpowering.
It doesn't look like that in person I swear!

Sorry your post got burried... must have come with a wave of posts.

I like the softness of your painting.  It is okay to add brightness and details in the foreground the make the Grand Canyon more interesting... can be all the same colour at some time if the year.
Cheers, Annie

Jay,

I do not recall having seen this either and it is dated March 11, 2016.

I like this, but am distracted by the circle of red dots to the right of center.  Are those sheep in the field?  If so, I'd add a few more to avoid having the circle shape.

You did a good job creating depth the green fields and the large patches of soil.
