Mahalo, Mary Lou, Patricia, Barry, and Terri.

Yes, the event was very satisfying.  Well worth the effort.  The curator did a great job of making everyone feel included.

Really was a great confidence builder.

Bravo, Mea! Really glad you posted this photo of you with your lei - both you and the lei look radiant! What a lovely compliment to receive from the gentleman who voted for your painting...and I'm happy that several of your friends were there. How flattering that you're already recognizable to the "well-known" artists that were there - and I predict you'll be as well-known as they one day soon!
Cheers,
Sharon

Thanks, Sharon.  I got a taste of what you must feel when you do a show.  It is exciting.  Maybe someday I'll have a show of just my work.

Thanks, Linda and Kathy S.  It makes me feel good to know you folks are in the background cheering me on.

It doesn't matter how many shows I do, I still get nervous before each of them!

If there's a venue close by that shows art, take the initiative and ask them if you could be their featured artist sometime. This could be a restaurant, clothing store (I had my first solo show in a woman's boutique!), winery, coffee shop, library - sometimes you have to take the initiative vs waiting to be invited.
Cheers,
Sharon

Thanks, Nina and Susan. b Yes, I drove home, reliving a magical evening.

Yes, Sharon, great ideas.  I am going to start amassing enough paintings for a showing.  There are several places around my way that will gladly have me.  They've hinted in the past but I was not ready.  And it will be a charity fundraiser like you do.

I'll start with the popular landmarks in my area.  People really like what they can identify with.
