Hi,

I tried to draw a self-portrait, but finally it changed into sci-fi portrait mutation.  It was meant to be a gel ink pen drawing, but finally I used acrylics to darken the background and for the blue eyes. Then I sent it to an amateur scifi painters contest and landed on the 2.nd place.  ;D

Sarlota,

Fabulous work, so creative, and congrats for winning 2nd place.  Amazing.

I am so happy you joined PB.  You bring an additional sense of daring to the Forum.  Like a young Zilpa.

Thank you Steve and Mea. It was 2. place in the category sci-fi. But there were also other two categories in the contest - fantasy and comics. And to show off, I won 1. place in the comics category. However, it was a photoshop painting/drawing, has not much to do with real art. Just klicking and using various Photoshop tools and layers.

Love the blue eyes.

:o Oh, really! I don't know, who is responsible for the newsletter, but I am happy to see my drawing in my mail inbox this morning.  :yippee: I sent it immediately to my friends, who support my painting.
For my winning submissions to the sci-fi painting contest I will get a Diploma and a couple of sci-fi novel books. And maybe I will get a chance to contribute with an illustration to a web sci-fi novel journal. It appears quarterly.

It is crazy to see, how one's life can take another direction, new friends and experiences, just by deciding to paint and love art.

Thank you all.  :flowers:
