Still tinkering, but only done three drawings since I've been away.

Barry,

Missed you!!

I love this.  Great blend of colors.  Nostalgia.  Drama.

It's got it all.

:heeha: Wow Barry. The colors and detail are incredible. Is this all colored pencil? Some of the color is so vibrant. I love the look of the frosted glass. It is quite realistic. Bravo!  :yippee:

Barry:  You have really done a great job on your lanterns.  The colors are beautiful shaded.

Thanks everyone.

Wish I had time for more, just too many projects in the fire. I will post another one of my drawing soon, a half completed one, showing my frustration with this.

The amount of time needed for CP is an order of magnitude greater than grafite, so I find myself working on them for just short periods of time, then leaving them for awhile.

What keeps me motivated is some of the work I see out there that is so incredible one would think a photograph you were looking at a photo.

Here is one that I gave up on. I found the flowers just difficult to do. I may come back and finish once I get more experience.

Looks wonderful to me, Barry. I don't think you need to add much to the flowers. Leaving them understated really focuses my attention on the radiant butterfly.

Time is precious, isn't it? I'm finding alloting enough time to art during the summer a real problem, even though I'm retired! The good news is that I should have a bunch more time once the good weather tanks at the end of October. :)

The lanterns and the butterfly are so well done, Barry. If this is only CP, wow, such vibrant colours! Looking forward to see more of this wonderful drawings!

I completely agree with Steve. The butterfly is beautiful with the soft flowers in the background.
