Hello,

I am a "late bloomer" new to drawing.  I never had a desire to draw until recently. I come from a family of talented artists.  I think this intimidated me a bit. This summer, I started playing with Zentangle. I was amazed at how much I enjoyed the peacefulness of pen and paper and loved the results of what I was creating.   ::)

I became curious to see what else I could do and found a lovely tutorial on how to sketch an apple. Amazingly, my apple looked fantastic. I had to find more! That is when I "stumbled" on Nolan's 2 hour drawing class.  Wow! I was so inspired by his detailed explanation of drawing. Yesterday, I purchased the drawing course.  :yippee:

I have my supplies, my pencils are sharpened, and I am ready to delve in and learn. I look forward to the forum and interaction of the group.

Kathy CA

Welcome to Paintbasket.  I added the CA to your name to distinguish you from our other Kathy.

My story is similar to yours in being intimidated to take up art because my family were artists.

Taking the drawing course is absolutely the way to start as it is the foundation for all the other media.

I do so look forward to seeing your progress.  Hope you get as much satisfaction from PB as we do.

Be prepared to become part of a loving, supportive family.  Nolan and Dennis treat us like we are brothers, sisters, or their children.  They are fantastic teachers.

:bigwelcome:   Kathy, you best prepare yourself to be illegally adopted into our PB family.....too late! You're in!!!  :2funny:

You really will love the drawing course which will lead you into even more fun with other mediums. I must mention we have a friendly monthly challenge (no it's not a contest), which I hope you'll join in for great camaraderie, and we even have prezzies!!!  :heeha: :yippee:

Welcome aboard and I look forward to seeing you progress. If you have any queries or get stuck...just sing out and someone will be about to lend a hand.  O0
