Hello,
I'm a new one here, and I've got a question. Could you give me a piece of advice, please?
When I first started drawing, I was primarily aiming at drawing my character so that they are recognizable. I started with an anime tutorial and made a sighificant improvement in faces and anatomy. The tutorial is simple, but that was an advantage for me, since I was in a hurry.
Now, I wonder: is it OK to start one's drawing practices with manga? I know I need more practise with perspective and colouring, but is "manga starters" a decent start for more realistic drawing in future?

Although anime is a specialised art form and you do distort the true perspective on certain features in order to get the anime look, you still need to understand the basics in order to do that. You still need to know where every thing need to be on the face, what normal proportions are so that you can distort them. You still need to know how to do normal shadings, etc. So yes starting with anime is a great place to learn if that is what you want to draw. O0
