Hello everyone!

My name is Steve Weatherwax. I am married and my wife's name is Olivia. I live in Troy, New York. It's just across the river from Albany.

I spent most of my time as a computer programmer for the State of New York. I started as programmer, but wound up in middle management supervising a staff of four coders.

I've been retired for the last three years and spend most of my time doing outdoor work and trying to stay out of my wife's garden. I also like to read and listen to music.

I'm enrolled in the Let's Draw pencil class and am having a great time. Nolan is a wonderful teacher and his instructions are easy to follow. I'm looking forward to learning a lot from everyone.

Now, if I can only figure out how to get the emoticons in my posts. I try to drag and drop them in, but all I get is URL text pointing to the icon.

God's peace

Steve W

Steve,

Welcome - again.  This time it's official since it's in the right place.

Good choice to start with Let's Draw.  One of the best choices I have ever made.  I am still in awe of the progress I have made in two years!  From what I saw in your first drawing, I think you are already ahead of me!

Keep at it. Want to see more of your work.

:bigwelcome: to the PB family Steve, so glad you decided to try your hand at art - will keep your hands out the garden and Olivia out of your hair ;D

To add the emoticons to a post just click it. You will then either see the emoticon itself in the reply, or it's shortcode (which is two colons with the shortcut name in between). When you post the reply and somebody views it then the forum will replace the shortcode with the correct image

:yippee:    Looks like it worked this time....using Microsoft IE. Before I was using their newest browser "Edge" with no luck. When I previewed it all I would see is the URL. Let me try my next post using Edge and see if it updates after posting.

Judy, yes, we are practically neighbors. A long time ago I used to work in a bank branch on Union Street. Small world! You wouldn't happen to be related to Don Weeks, would you?

:yippee: Greeting Steve and  :bigwelcome: to Paint Basket!!!    I as you'll find out am a lover of these funny little fellows!  :yippee:   Can't help it, even the angry ones make me smile!  :2funny:

You have picked the best learn to draw course you could ever find. It is simply the most fun you could have with a piece of paper, a pencil and rubber. I still do a lot of rubbing out so am of great value to the industry!  :2funny:

I look forward to seeing your many works as you progress along your journey of discovery. Just sing out if you have any queries, there's always someone about to lend a hand. Come often, enjoy and have fun!!!  :yippee:
Cheers, Val

Thanks for the encouragement, Val.http://www.paintbasket.com/members/Smileys/webby/smiley.gif

Judy, I used to wake up every morning listening to Don. Not many radio hosts like him. I was saddened at his passing.
