Val, thank you so much for your warmhearted comment, it feels just so great to know that I have some friends that are happy for me, it makes it all so special to be able to share this with friends  :flowers:
Ofcourse I know that it wasn't you who picked my name to get this wonderful scholarship. But your wonderful and warm gesture to start this Marsha Fund is the start of this. Your love for PB, Marsha and its members will allways be remembered and I hope, no... just know that many of us who are going throught rough times will open one day a same kind of mail I did receive...and that is something so great. You have made a dream come true, and you honored one of our dearest members and friends with something she so loved to do...the possibility to paint. And so I think I can say from  all the corners from my heart, and for all the future Scholarships that are going out, THANK YOU!!! :flowers: :smitten: :1hug:

Mea, Thank you so much for your lovely words. I just can't help myself, and I am sure when my English would be better, and I could find the right sentences my post would not be that enthousiastic  I try not to think too much of it is correct, grammar, but I just put down what is in my heart...and that is a lot. It is almost overflown from gratetute and happiness and putting my emotions down on 'paper' is something I have always done, so that is why it is so overloaded with what I feel  .
Sally thank you so much, I will for sure enjoy my year of painting and drawing. I finished last night the drawing for my first painting, the Cherries. I did wanted to start simple, but I just know I will do the Blue Tit after that, I just fel in love with that painting, maybe because I see them the whole year in front of my art room, sitting in the tree, playing together :) .

Nolan, Thank you so much, I will enjoy it a lot, every second of it. I had such a great time allready by going trough some of the classes, drawing the cherries and looking for the right colours, there are so many that I wanted to start right away.  You and Dennis have taken care of a huge library for us to choose from, with very attractive, insprirering, challenging and colourful classes. It is really hard to choose what to do first. But the cherries seem a nice beginning...and then this cute little bird.

Dennis, Thank you so much for your wonderful comment, I can't tell how much I appreciated it, as I wrote before in this post, my heart is just overflowing with gratitute. I feel honored and blessed by the generousity, warmth and kindness from all of you. This is such a wonderful thing, something I never, ever dreamed of or thought would happen to me. Last year I really hoped it would be possible to join the Online Art Classes, because I so missed painting  and the interaction with others that followed the same classes. I so missed the videos with all the great tips, paintings, and the enthousiastic lessons told by you and Nolan. The two of you know how to enthousiast people, how to challenge us to take our skills a step further. Doing it on my own just didn't work.

And now, all of you have made this wish come true, and I am so very happy. Right now I have my acrylic paper under my elbow, on it the drawn cherries, waiting to get painted. Outside it is stormy and cold, but I just dont care, all I see is a wonderful tree bending in the wind, grass that waves like the ocean, and dark clouds in front of a white sky. And still colours are bright and happy, aldo the only bright, sunny, happy colours are greens from the gras, the colours from the houses and all the happy colours from scarfs and hats from the students that are cycling along the road to school or back home again. Bending into the wind, happy chatting...and I enjoy it all because I am so very happy,  :flowers:

Never worry whether your English is perfect.  Your meaning comes through loud and clear.

We are all so happy for you.

Being part of the Paintbasket family is such an enriching experience.

Riya, I am just so happy for you. I haven't had much time to go through all the posts so have just come across these posts today and I did leave a message on the other one for you and Leanne.  Anyway, I am thrilled for you and I know that you will enjoy and be encouraged by it.

Mea, thank you so much for all the kind words, they mean a lot to me,  :flowers:

Patricia,  thank you so much for your wonderful and warm comment, :flowers: I have enjoyed the last two days my first painting from one of the acrylic/oil classes, since I did the portrait course in 2012, and The girl with the Pearl in 2013.

Cyril, Thank you so much for your nice comment,  :flowers:

Well, here is my first little painting since long, How to paint Juicy Cherries. I have used acrylics instead of oils, and it is just very small, 12.5cm by 16cm.

Andrea, Patricia and Val, thank you for the very nice and enthousiastic comments :flowers: :flowers: :flowers: , I really can use that after not have paint for this long. That is, this small  :) . I made a few adjustments and took a photo by daylight, so I think the cherries look better. Still not perfect but that day will come, just have to get back into this painting routine. But I made a first start and I am happy with this first little painting.

Oh, yes, Riya, the cherries and stems look much better now.  Shading and highlights make all the difference.

looking great Riya :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:

It is best to post your class paintings under each class topic. For example to post your painting from the cherry class, go to the forum index. Lower down the page you will see that there is a section for oil painting classes, under there you will find the cherry class. Once you have found the correct class, just reply to that post and add your photo in there. That way you get more feedback and comments O0

Thank you Nolan for the kind reminder,  :) I posted it there the same day, but because when I replied, it said that it was 120 days since last reply, it might be better to start a new topic. So, I not only did that, but posted here and in the Oil/Cherries topic.

Pitty the pictures are not that great, bad lightning, but I;ll try to make new tomorrow. I made a second pair of cherries, this time I painted the background black. The look even better, I think, the  the first I made. Will upload it tomorrow,  :)

Hav a nice evening, Riya
