Lovely, Christina.
Did you watercolor the background first?
What kind of paper did you use?
What did you use for blending/burnishing?

Thanks, Mea. Another attempt at drawing, as well! It came from a book and I don't know why they petal in the front was so short. I think maybe it is because of the "foreshortening"(spelling?) theory? Anyway, I agree, it does grab your attention.

Sue,  I used 140lb water color paper. I have tried a colorless blending pencil, a blender stick and a white pencil. No liquids yet. I personally like the white pencil. It seems to blend better to me. It only makes a slight difference in the color. As far as the wash in the background, I just washed right over the drawing! It is waxed based so I just brushed over and quickly wiped the flowers. If you leave any of your paper for "whites", of course you couldn't do that.

Christina, these are beautiful with brilliant color.  I don't know anything about these pencils but they look like watercolor.  I think it is your excellent skill.  Lovely.

 Attempting? Well do us a favour and keep attempting! Beautiful work. As I was reading through I was going to mention Nolan's little video on foreshortening.... as usual beat me to it, not unusual as he knows where all the videos are!!!  :2funny:   Looking forward to the next one.  O0
