I had to draw the rocks freehand so not exact.  :)

I found the cross hatching a challenge,  :-\

Think I need to learn better control of my pencil  :P

Win,

I love your avatar - great composition.

Good to see you working in the Let's Draw course.  That will give you the foundation you need to really start doing good art work.

Your rock plane - wow, free hand - looks really good, although it could use more darks.  I think we were all afraid in the beginning of really going dark.  But, after a while, it clicks and you get the idea of how really important the darkest darks are.

The coffee mug has a wonky bottom, but not bad for a first attempt.  I still struggle with cross-hatching but now see its usefulness in certain situations.

So happy to see my little teddy bear friend.  You drew him well, but again don't be afraid to go darker.  He will look even better.  I just went back and looked at the one I did two years ago and yours is so much better than mine!

Win, keep at it, you are doing so well.

great job with these drawings. Good contrasts on the rocks and lovely hatching :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:
it does take a while to get used to the hatching, but once you get the concept, it becomes easy O0
just round off the base of the mug, it can't be straight (see the lesson on ovals) O0

:flowers: You're coming along nicely, Win!  As a former primary teacher, I would say you have a lot going for you with good eye-hand coordination and muscle control.  It takes more discipline for some folks to have a light and relaxed hand, but it looks like you will do very well with the drawing course with Nolan and Dennis coaching you!  O0 :gl2:

Nice job on the barn drawing, Win.  You did so much better on that open window than I did.

Might want to check the shading on the big gate on the fence.  It's hard to tell which way it is facing.  Now that I think of it, check all your shading against the reference picture.

My resizing excercise - Co-ords method.  I have done it double the size of original picture.
