My condo manager started Christmas decorations early because our Christmas party is early in December.  He had brick paper and wanted to make a fireplace using his recycled computer box.  He cut out the hole and needed a fireplace with a log and fire, and called on me, the 'artist in residence'.     First time for me to paint on a slab of concrete flooring! First time to paint a fire!

Poor Santa is going to get burned!!!

Not bad for so many firsts!

Rather than have all the fire behind the log, why not have some coming out of a couple other random places on the top.

Have a pail of water handy just in case!

You know, MAL, I cannot tolerate cold so I will probably never enjoy stoking a fire.  Never seen a working fireplace, not many locals have, except you that is!  :)

I tried to post a photo of our lobby with a beautiful tree and the fireplace completed, but couldn't get it on.  Don't know what the problem is with posting the second photo!

Is the file too large?   I've had that problem.  Over 2MB?

I don't think so, but I'll check again.  It was square, don't know if that makes a difference because I cropped the first one.

Still can't get it on, but if you go to my Facebook, you can see the lobby photo.  My neighbor had all this great trimmings and ornaments!  There's a short message on the 3 R's- REDUCE, REUSE & RECYCLE.
