I've got this shell drawing started.  Good chance to learn the techniques for making the ribbed shells.  I need all the shading practice I can get.

Hope to finish it this weekend.  Our local high school football team is playing in the semi-finals of the state football championship, so I am busy volunteering at the school store selling school spirit shirts!

Here's my shell drawing.  My shell ribs are not as good as they will be the next time I have to draw some.  I didn't really get the technique under control until the end.  Will do better next time.

Good lesson.  Still tonal challenged.

    A very good try Mea for I am sure it is not as easy as it looks. I have started mine but haven't been able to proceed but hope to get it done when I get some time.    Patricia

Looks great Mea
the technique does take a bit of getting used to as you are applying different pressures with the eraser

Nice attempt at the seashell Mea. Nolan's seems to have a softer appearance. Yours looks like a seashell that hasn't been in the water as long, but I like it.

Diane, thanks, I See now that I did not taper the ribs.  Need to take my own advice to others and really study the reference photo all through the process to be sure that every step is correct.

Thanks, Kathy and Jay.  As I said to the others, the ribs are not tapered enough.  Learned a lot from doing this one.

Here's my drawing of the Shells which were deceptively difficult but still enjoyable, thank you Nolan.  All comments and critiques are happily received.  Thank you. Patricia
