Loved making this one so much I have started another one. Most things except chain and a couple gears were made by me. Lots of experimentation to get the look I wanted. Lots of cool techniques used. What do you think?

Thanks! It is on a 8" x 10" stretched canvas. Various acrylic metallic paints, stamping ink on tissue paper then layered on base color with bit of matte medium. Texture paste through a stencil then painted.

The larger gears and diamond plate corners are just card stock ran through my newest fun toy my Big Kick.  Then I used matte medium on both sides and then painted the metallic finish. I also made a couple of the smaller flat brass gears with the Big Kick too.

Springs made of jewelry wire. Chunkier gears, clockwork and key is made of FIMO clay, baked and painted. Items are attached with texture paste and Glossy Accents. A few gears I had in my findings collection.

It was great fun to do. I tended to use my fingers as much as my brushes to get the desired effects.

Steampunk is basically Victorian Sci-Fi ...Think the Will Smith version of Wild Wild West. ;-)

Looks like you had fun with this, using found objects and ones you have made yourself.
It gives a sense of motion.  I can almost hear the chain working over the gears.   :)

Very creative and a great contemporary style, the favourite of many these days.

Keep on having fun !!!   :yippee:

Thanks everyone! Thought I had this one sold but the buyer (someone I know) had some sudden financial issue arise and was unable to do so at the moment. So I plan to hang it on my wall for now and enjoy it until he can get his financial issue sorted. All good. ;-)

This is a great piece.  I love the colours and the way the pieces fit together.  I am speechless at all the steps and media involved.  Thank you so much for the description of your work.  You have an amazing imagination.

Bravo!
