Here is an adjusted photo for you to work from :

What I have done is increased the contrasts so you can see the different tonal values on the face a bit easier. This will help you to spot what is lighter and which areas go darker, etc. O0

Here is the latest with revisions.  It is making me a bit crazy...every time I fix one thing two more things jump out at me.

Here is the final of my eye study I call "The Eyes Have it". I posted it on FB and was so impressed that everyone knew where they were! Fun game to play with friends and practice eye drawing.

Nice eyes, Lady J.  You do great "twinkles."

Not sure I understand what you mean by "everyone knew where they were."   Are these eyes of people posted in public places?

The drawing of your son is really taking shape now.  You have captured his likeness, just need to work on the tonal values from the enhanced reference photo.

The drawing of the eyes are from photos I pulled from a few of my friends on Facebook and did this eye study. Then I posted the drawing on FB to see if they could ID the persons by the eyes I sketched.

It was funny when the one lady said the second set of eyes looked familiar, I asked her if she saw them in the mirror each day. Then she realized that were her eyes. LOL
