:thankyou:  so so much Mea, Sharon, Val, and Lisa.

I read your replies last night but did know know what to say, and I still don't except to say thank you for your ongoing support, help, encouragement, and even more for the laugthers and distance frienship.  All that makes PB so special.  And when I will see Sharon's painting of something from Alsace... I will be  🎶 and 💃

On the road again for a short side trip.  I left my unfinished oil painting behind to dry and will retreive it in 3 weeks.

Someone wants to show me how to paint acrylic mixed with sawdust to give it texture.  Sounds more like craft than fine art... but also like fun.  So will have to try it.

Hi everyone,
I used a leftover irregular piece of plywood, gessoed it, and turned it around and around until I settled for a simple tulip.

I mixed thick acrylic paint with plain sawdust.   Picked up from the floor at Home Depot -  :thankyou: Home Depot, the saleperson said they get artists asking for sawdust all the time... so it did not sound weird.

I used clam shelves from previous night dinner and dead twigs from a bush to do the butterflies.

No shading attempt as it was anough challenge to use a palette knife with the thick lumpy paste created by the wood ships.

While working on this, I realized it was a great exercise to 'decrease the fear of the palette knife'.  By the end I was enjoying the process.  Quite a stretch for me!

What do you think?

Fabulously creative, Annie.  Hmmm...sawdust in your paint, imagine that!
