Nice job on the self portrait, Lynn - I believe most great artists do self portraits, so glad you've done yours!!!

Val- how exciting you'll be in the States - and in New Orleans! Such a fun place! You must have beignets and cafe au lait at Cafe du Monde. When will you be there????
Cheers,
Sharon

Lynne I'll let you know as soon as we get booked! Will be sometime in August. I have only been to New Orleans once which was... oh my stars... almost 50yrs. ago!  :o   When did that happen?!  :2funny: Can't wait!

Sharon....looking for a weekend getaway?  :heeha:
Cheers, Val

Lynn, Congratulations on winning the competition with your self portrait.  Excellent job as per usual.  How wonderful that you and Val will be able to meet soon. You will have so much art to discuss and perhaps you can take her to some of your best art stores.  It may upset Lloyd though.  :knuppel2:

It's so tempting, Val - but New Orleans in August might be a little too humid even for me!!!
Cheers,
Sharon

Win, Sharon and Patricia, thanks for your comments on the self portrait.  You are correct Win about the self-portrait!! I had to draw that double chin, Yuck!!! Luckily I didn't have enough time to get into details, like wrinkles :) :)

Oh, how exciting for Lynn and Val.  If I lived within a thousand miles, I'd plan to be there, too!!

Hope the meet up happens!!  Maybe we could Facetime or Skype to be part of the welcoming committee.

I'm pretty sure it will be after that week Lynn. The friends we'll be staying with don't move into their house until next week. Will keep you posted.  O0

Here is our lovely model from tonight.

I usually don't have a pic of our model, but here she is.  Photo is bad and makes some areas too dark.

As always, Lynn.  B-E-A-U-T-F-U-L!  Love the wisps of her hair hanging out so naturally.  Great character in her face,

Fabulous.

The work on her hair is great, shows off the various colours and layers nicely. Contours on the side of her face very well done.

    Fantastic Lynn, your model is so pretty and I too, love the way you did her hair showing up the hi-lites and loose strands which make it so realistic.   Patricia
