http://www.amazon.co.uk/KUM-Automatic-Long-Point-Sharpener/dp/B002C2UV0I had to share this with you, cant contain my enthusiasm  :yippee:  it is a 2 point pencil sharpner, one does the long exposed side of the lead, perfect for shading, and the other side sharpens it. perfect no using knives and best of all the lead doesn't break off  :yippee: check it out its a wonderful piece of kit  O0

Ohhh noooo!!  Doesn't deliver to Canada!  I'm always a day late n a buck short.  LOLOL  Oh well, back to the hand crank sharpener and jack knife.
Looks very interesting, Jenn. I know you will get a lot of use for it.  I haven't done much on the drawing end....heck, since pneumonia, I haven't done much of anything. Keep runnin out of gas!!  LOL  Soon...when the weather cools down and the fires go out.
Your work is so awesome, Jenn...you are doing such great pictures.

I just brought back some mechanical pencils and boxes of leads....I guess I'll have to use the sanding block to make my points. They don't deliver to Honduras either.    If I get a mailing address down the line I'll have to get you to send me one Jenn!  :2funny:
Cheers, Val

Jennylynn, thank you so much for the information on the sharpener. Retta and Danielle, I went onto Amazon.ca and they wanted $26 for the sharpener which included the postage in that amount, Amazon.com was a little cheaper but still in the $20's and then I had a look at Curry's and they have them for $4.99 ... how's that??  I don't know if you have a Curry's near you but they are a Canadian store and they do post so just thought I would let you know. The sharpener received rave reviews on Amazon. Now I noticed that some KUM sharpeners are blue plastic and others red. I don't know if there is a difference but they both appear to do the same job which is peel the wood away and then sharpen the point. Hope this information helps you all.

It appears Blick and Jerry's Artarama carries them but both are out of the red @ $4.39 and $4.29..  The blue is at Jerry's for $5.59.  The blue has two more blades so you can sharpen mechanical pencil lead as well.  Blick does have replacement blades.

:thankyou:  Barry for your post on the sharpeners from Amazon which will aid others but not us Canadians as it is cheaper for us to purchase the exact same sharpeners here for $4.99 but thanks anyway.

Jennylynn, just an update on those sharpeners.  I purchased two and they are FANTASTIC.  I can't believe the fantastic point they render.  Thanks so much for letting us know about them.
