Looking great so far Louisa :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:

The background is just a bit dull, so add some more colour in. It should not be super bright colours, but it does need so colour as there zebra itself is pretty mono tone O0

   Fantastic Louisa.  I tried the Zebra too. It was the first time I had ever painted with acrylics and I am still busy but my background is way too bright and I struggled with the paintbrushes and acrylic paint. It is just so very different from watercolour. Anyway, when I have finished it, I will post it but am having a break before attacking it again. Just hope it doesn't end up in the garbage bin lol!!!

Great work on the zebra, Louisa.  The stripes/fur look so realistic.

Agree with Nolan on the background.

Hi!

I am looking for feedback on my zebra painting.  It's my second painting, so I know I still have a lot to learn.  I am looking forward to suggestions :-).  FYI - I paint a hidden heart in my paintings (my Teddy Bear painting in my gallery has one, too).

Thanks!  April

April,

Lovely zebra.  Love his nice fluffy ears.  Great depth in those beautiful brown eyes.

The shadow cast by the ears appears to be too straight in your painting - maybe try to blur the edges a bit.  The nose (snout??) looks too solidly one color

Think I see the heart(faintly)  in the upper left corner.  Cute idea.

Keep painting and posting!

    April, you did a fantastic job on the Zebra.  However, I would agree with Mea about the snout being too solid.  I initially tried it in acrylics without knowing anything about the medium (and I still don't know anything about it) so it remains unfinished at this point. I did one in pastels which turned out nicely and pleased me tremendously as I painted it for my daughter and she loved it too. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.  O0

Nope... clearly in one of the black stripe.

Beautiful zebra   How ingenious to hide a little heart in your painting  O0

 Such a handsome zebra, April. I love the full thick neck. You did a beautiful job on the hair of the mane and ears. The stripes are lovely. I also feel the snout is a bit heavy looking. I like the hidden heart signature. I've been looking for it but I think Annie may be right. I believe I see it in the black stripe too. ❤️💜💚
