Just wanted to introduce myself. I live in TN USA and have no drawing experience. I've been crusing the various websites and stumbled on this one. The three drawings of a ball below attest to my skill level, but the third one is after watching Nolan's video and i saw a big improvement and pulled the trigger on the course. Looking forward to this.  (can't figure out how to attach pictures).

Hi Barry!  Welcome to PB.  I'm sure you will enjoy the course as much as everyone else has.  You will be amazed at how much you learn and how quickly you progress.  Looking forward to seeing your work.

:bigwelcome: Hi Barry, and welcome. You certainly clicked on the right place!  ;D   You will be amazed at how quickly your drawing improves, and even more so if you follow the lessons in order! Not like someone else I know....

I see Natalie has put you on the right track for posting your photos. Just give a shout if you have any problems, we're here to help.  O0

Come often and enjoy!  :yippee:
Cheers, Val

Thanks for the welcome and Thanks for the link, as that did not come up when i searched on Attachment.

So here is my first attempt. ( not sure why they rotated)

There was a second attempt but it was not much better than the first.

This is my third attempt at drawing a ball after finding and watching Nolan.

:heeha: You've made tremendous improvement right there! Your shading is very good, Nolan might spot something better than I can, but it looks great to me.  You will need to take note and keep the edges round, this will come with practice.  O0   That word practice you'll be hearing a lot!  ;D

Great work Barry, keep going.

Progressing nicely  Barry.  The sphere isn't the easiest thing to do.  But as they say " practice makes perfect". :)

Barry,

Good work, Barry.  Isn't this fun!

I call that drawing lesson the "Instant Artist"  lesson.  I had never had any success with drawing until that one.  Then I said to myself, "I can do this."   Hope you feel the same way.

that is some serious improvement on the ball study :heeha:

great job on the sunset drawing
what you want to do is rotate your paper when drawing so that when you draw a vertical, it comes out vertical. You will see your trees and their reflections are not vertical. Turning the paper while drawing fixes this. You just need to play around to find your personal "magic" angle O0

PS - You forgot the dude in the boat

Thanks mea, and i think it a bit early for me to think I can be doing this! The berry project is taking a lot of time.

Nolan, how about if I tell ya that the wind was blowing those trees! The wind was so bad it sunk the boat! Ya, that's it, the wind. Seriously, good feedback, and I'm enjoying the classes, thanks.

 Sank the boat?!!  :2funny:   Is that anything like the dog ate my homework?   :2funny:
Good job Barry, any hope of raising the boat? Hope that little fella made it to shore.....  :) ;D

i think it a bit early for me to think I can be doing this!

 What do you mean too early?     You are doing it!!!  O0    So we'll not be hearing anymore of that shall we?  :nono:
I'd hate to have to bring out the bat  :knuppel2: , I've got a sore shoulder!  ;D

Barry, as for the berries taking a long time.... we don't have punchclocks here so take your time.....we will wait.   ;) ;D
Besides....you've a long way to go to beat my 'time' record!!!  :2funny:
Cheers, Val
