Thank you all  :)  I must apologise for my absence from the forum lately, but life has gotten a bit hectic here with one thing and another.

I have enrolled into an art academy specialising in pastel work. The first few weeks have been dealing with drawing basics and a lot of charcoal work. This one is based on one of the lessons from the course. I mat have a go at it in colour as well  :) All the work done so far has been to train the eye to see the tonal differences in a subject. I am developing a love of charcoal worl  :)

As always comments, crits and suggestions are most welcome

Cheers
Fi

I am so envious Fi !  :envy:      Mind your shoes...        ;)

:heeha:   An academy featuring pastel, how exciting Fi ! I love charcoal, and am fast falling into a mad affair with pastels.  :smitten: Not many artsy types here this year, still will try to get a group going.

Your charcoal work looks great, great fun getting into the thick of it. You've got some lovely softening/blending on the fruits. They really look quite luscious. Love the bottle. Have fun Fi.... and do keep us posted.
Cheers, Val

Your pastel work is so outstanding already Fiona, I am looking forward to seeing the art you going to produce from attending the academy.

    Great job Fi with the charcoal and a good way to see tonal differences which you have done so well.  Looking forward to seeing your future pastel work but wonder if you can really get any better for in my estimation, your are the "pastel queen" because your work is absolutely outstanding already.
