Thanks I absolutely appreciate it!
That's why I chose to paint this scene because it looked so pleasing that I too wished I were lounging on the beach smoking a "hand-rolled" cigarette;-)_

Looks great, Jay.  It's very quiet and soft.

I appreciate it especially from a artist of your caliber!
I love to paint the landscape!
I've been using color only for about almost a year and a half as well as painting period!
Before that I only drew anime characters and the occasional gorgeous ,scantly clad women.
I think I'm progressing in my skills I taught myself everything I know...lol!
Seriously though..
I'm intensely driven to figure out how to push the envelope in terms of color placement, intensity  and value and color relationships within mass!
A bit daunting at times but that's when I paint or do a value sketch or even start another painting!
Sometimes I have 5 going on. I found it encourages my creativity instead of finishing a particular painting just because I want to move on to the next. And I love coming back with fresh eyes, different mood etc.
Thanks for listening to me meander on about me a little bit!

Jay, I've finally got some good marsh photos for you. Went down to the woods and marsh on a 3 hour trek!    I'll post them a few at a time....I do have a habit of taking more than a 'few'    For those not so keen on the marshes, I've got a few cute and perhaps not so cute residents for you.  ;)

They'll be available in the reference photo section under 'Val's Marsh & Woods Trek'. Will start sorting through and get some up today.
Cheers, Val
