Nolan,

"Bugsthelady!"  Love that one.  Bet your wife thought of it!

I am attaching this sketch I did of the ladybug while waiting in the eye doctor's office - only to find out that they want to reschedule the surgery!

I was having a difficult time with the oil painting because I had never met a ladybug face-to-face.  So the sketch helped me to put all the pieces together.  I will finish the ladybug oil painting, though!   She's such a cutie.

I am really beginning to like drawing more than any of the other media - BECAUSE I CAN ERASE SO EASILY!!

Thanks, Nolan.  Hope Sheeri's husband did better than mine.  His blood pressure was too high so surgery is postponed until it can be brought under control.  He's 89 years old and it's the first time he's ever been told his BP is high.

Thanks, Jennylynn.  It was fun to do and a good way to use up the time in the waiting room.

One of my friends said it would look better in color, so I am going to break out the watercolor pencils and see what happens.

Thanks, Nolan.  I was quite pleased with how it turned out.

Now I am more pleased after I colorized it!!!  Used watercolor pencil (Red Poppy) first, then washed with my Golden Quinacridone Gol on the shell, then just black for the black parts.

Had fun with this one.

Thanks, Dennis.  I am quite pleased.

I now ask myself: What have I learned from the Clarks that I can use to make this better?    Works like a charm!

Thanks, Cheryl.  I need to get the ladybug in oil now.

    Mea, I was hunting all over to find the ladybug you did.  I very seldom wander into the Oil or Acrylic section because as you know, I am in to watercolour/pastels/pencils but I saw your ladybug in the gallery and it is FANTASTIC.  You never fail to amaze me, your progress has been phenomenal.  I think I need to take a closer look around these other sections. Very enticing I must say but then, Dennis and Nolan are the best.

Patricia,

I found a simple way to stay current on what everyone is doing in all media.

My default opening page in my browser is the page for the last 100 FORUM posts (no matter what media).  I just go through them, make comments where needed, then stop when I come to where I left off the last time.  Since I check several times a day, I rarely ever get to #100. http://www.paintbasket.com/members/index.php?action=recent] http://www.paintbasket.com/members/index.php?action=recent

If you do leave a comment, then you have to click the reverse arrow at the top left of the page a couple times to get back to the 100 list.

Mea,
Isn't it easier to go to 'show unread post since last visit'?

Not really, Annie, I can scan the contents of 10 posts in the time it takes to open just one or two from the Unread-messages-since-last visit page.  Much faster.
