Kris,

Your giraffe looks much better now.  It is amazing how we all see little things that others miss.  Most often they are just quick fixes that can make a world of difference in the quality of the piece.

So lucky we have this site!

KathyK

This is fine regarding its shape, but it could use more darker tones to really show it off.  His ears seem to fade out; they need more.  Compare yours with the reference.

Most of us were afraid to go to dark when we started out.  Now we know the difference the darker values can make.

Go for it.  This good - make it fantastic!

Thanks Mea: I ordered the pencils that you and Nolan uses.  They have not come yet.  I can not wait.  I will try to get darker.

:thankyou:  Kathy for your comments on my giraffe ... I have only now seen your post and my apologies for the time lapse in saying "thank you".

I absolutely love your giraffe's eyes.  As others have suggested, a little darker would really make it pop.  Wait for your new pencils to arrive and then see the difference.

Here is my Giraffe drawing.  Im not very good with animal drawings so thought I best make a start to learn and practice.

Not sure why the lines above the eyes are so prominent, they dont appear to be so bad on the actual drawing  :-\
