The mixed media maharaja (w/c and acrylic) is now framed and already given away as a gift!  :yippee: :yippee: My best friend had wished to have a painting like this for more than 2 years. She wanted a similar one like the acrylic version (please see further down) I have hung at home. Now she is equally very happy with the mixed media Version. I had revised the face and the outer colour with acrylics.

Would love to hear your comments  :smiley6600:

Well done, I can see your friend will be happy with this version.  The frame and mat you chose really complement the painting.

Since we are curently discussing the definition of mixed media on the forum, which ones did you use in this painting?
Cheers, Annie

:thankyou: Annie. The face and surroundings are in acrylic and the rest of the maharaja in watercolour. The Diwan´s white colour is the white of the paper. Actually I had presented the first W-C only Version in the August challenge. I decided to change this version. Please see the first Version in W/C only below.

This version is my first one in acrylic on canvas (90cm x 90 cm), done in the 92´s. The border of the red cloth is made in tissue paper technique. So strictly speaking, this is a collage.

Would like to get some Feedback from you.

The watercolor version is even better.  It shows how your skills have improved over the years.

It's amazing how the right mat and frame can raise a painting to a whole new level.  It was good; now it fantastic.

Thanks Mea. I love the colour of the mat, glad I chose it the way it is.
Thank you, Steve!. I could not part myself from the acrylic maharaja, there have been a number of my friends who wanted to own him. He is a patient observer in my living room.
