Dirk,

I love your little monkey!  Makes me want to try scratchboard.  Was it fun to do?

Dirk, I love it!! I'm drawing mine now..started it last night. I had a piece of black watercolor paper here and used it. I like the grain that is showing up on the drawing. You've done a great job.

Thanks everybody!

Mea, it is actually a regular pencil drawing, only now with a white pencil on black paper.

Nolan, I used a watercolourpencil.

The paper I used was not ideal, because it had too much grain in it, so I started out with the idea that this was just
a trial before I would give it a serious try, but it turned out better than I expected.
The good thing here is that you don't need so much detail (as Nolan already pointed out in his lesson).

I liked it and will do another 'white on black' soon.

Is the monkey sleeping or worrying about global warming? I guess we will never know. :-\

Well I really struggled with this picture.  I think that it might be the paper (I used cardstock).  I had a really hard time getting my pencil to darken on the paper.  I began  trying to use a colored pencil but it seemed to be waxy and then the water color pencil did not want to go over it.  I used a little of both.

Definitely not my best work.  Will have to try to find some different paper.
