Thank you Mea, Nolan, Doina and Sally - and PB inspires me daily, Nolan!

On a side note, I've been mentoring this high school senior since November who normally paints in acrylics but had a senior project to learn to paint in a different medium. She chose watercolors. One of her goals was to complete a painting and display it in a second saturday show.  So after she created one (with a little guidance from me), I let her display it last night...and she sold it for $27! Nice to pay it forward after all of the support I've received from PB...
Cheers,
Sharon

That's wonderful, Sharon. Sounds like a win-win for both the student and you.

Congratulations, Sharon! I'm glad the show was a success! It seems there's so much involved and so much to know to even before you think of having a show.Starting from how to photograph your paintings and make giclees and getting everything framed, it's going be a long time before I have a show :D  How did you learn all this?

  Sharon, we are all so very proud of you and your wonderful achievements.  Thank you for keeping us informed of your success.  It makes it all the more pleasurable and exciting for us because you so diligently include us in all your paintings from start to finish, which makes us feel so much part of it all and while we can't attend your functions in person, we are with you in spirit and prayers.  I am so excited for you and I wish you an abundance of fame and fortune in all your future masterpieces.

Reading all of these lovely comments brings tears to my eyes! Thank you all so much. And Patricia, I inclide everyone because everyone gives me such marvelous advice on how to improve my paintings which makes them of interest to buyers. Seriously, none of my success would have been possible without PB.  And the nerves are always inside me - I've just learned to mask them from others!

Sue - I used to be the premiere event planner in the Sacramento region so have a lot of experience throwing parties! Art shows are obviously a lot different than organizing the mayor's inauguration, but I use the same marketing techniques. Plus it helped that this show was at a radio station who advertised it a lot on air. And Ive always surrounded myself with the best people. I lucked out in finding a framer who can scan my paintings and create giclee prints that look like paintings as well as framing my paintngs so beautifully.

If anyone ever has an art show I'm always happy to help guide you through the process.
Cheers,
Sharon

Sharon you have just given all the most important piece of advice there is.

This advice is not just for the Paint Basket, but for you wherever you are in the world. Who are your friends? Who are your mentors? If you want to improve then carefully choose your friends and mentors. They must be positive people. This is harsh, but you need to get rids of negative friends and acquaintances. This I learned many years ago and I apply it to my life. O0
