Hi Nolan,

What happened to the monthly art challenge? The last one was in April, will you be doing it again?

Thanks Nolan, it's a great idea. I need some challenging every now and again.

I only caught the last half of the telecast today, it was really wonderful, you are a very good teacher who explains everything clearly, thanks for that. I look forward to painting that water scene.

I haven't been around long enough to answer that. I am not sure what challenges have already been done. I will just go along with any suggestion that will motivate me and help me to improve.

My last 2 paintings have been very frustrating for me, very difficult and I seem to be losing the joy in painting. I would like to paint something that will loosen me up and let creativity flow rather than worrying about all the technical aspects that I have been unable to accomplish. That's just where I am at at the moment. I am very happy to start the painting that you started today, I think that will really free me up and I will really enjoy painting it.

But as I said I am up for any challenge.

Hi Nolan:  It's 0327 hours here in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada.  I would be up to any challenge.  I am a new-by to your site and have only been painting for 3 years.  I paint in watersoluable oils and really like using them.

Here's my suggestion,

anyone interested in learning how to paint skin tones? I would love to learn how to mix the right colors, how to blend, how to shade and highlight and how to acheive luminous skin.

I am just busy with a very important project at the moment so if you are willing to wait for a few weeks I will cook up an article on skin tones as I have experience with portraits.
