As I struggle terribly with shading, I thought that it would be a good exercise for me to draw the subject before the lesson to be able to compare drawings after our lesson to see where my problem areas lie and to improve on them.  Well, I was so engrossed and thoroughly enjoyed the exercise and now can't wait for our lesson tomorrow.
Patricia

This is my drawing after the lesson which I thoroughly enjoyed, thank you Nolan.  Having done a pre-run on my own was a good exercise for your approach to the drawing was totally different to what I did on my own and once again, I picked up so many tips and learnt a lot too.  In comparing the two drawings, I feel that after the lesson my drawing was actually so much more refined and a heck of a lot better.    Any comments and critiques are most welcomed.  Thank you, Patricia

:thankyou:  Natalie, yes this pencil lesson is due tomorrow (Thursday) and I would recommend it whole heartedly for it was just so interesting and enjoyable doing a trial run on my own that I now can't wait for our lesson tomorrow to learn from the Master.  I too am so far behind in my lessons and am trying to catch up.  Patricia

patricia this is so well done  O0  I am so far behind in the lessons also, it would be so nice for the live classes to be reinstated, as I think you make much more of an effort and its great to interact with everyone.

:thankyou:  Jennylynn, I think that we are all so far behind in our work because of the Festive Season but apart from that I had my daughter to help out after her surgery as she could not lift her baby for three weeks but is fine now so I am hoping that I can do some catching up.  I have really missed my art.  Anyway, I can assure you that you will LOVE this lesson on baby shoes.

Patricia - if you did this before the lesson than maybe you should teach the lesson - this is fantastic! So glad to hear your daughter is doing well now - what a relief!
Cheers,
Sharon

Bless you and  :thankyou:  Sharon for that lovely comment.  It had me screaming with laughter but honestly, I struggle so much with shading which is an important component in art as you well know and it was such a good exercise and most importantly, enjoyable for me and now in the actual lesson, I can hone in on my problems and work on them.  It is so exciting for me.   Patricia

My goodness Patricia, this is sooo beautiful! And this is before the class?  :o. Clever plan to figure out how the lesson compares to your solo work  :)

So glad to hear your daughter is better, she must be thrilled to be able to pick up her own healthy baby  :smitten:. Enjoy getting back to your beautiful art.....

Patricia,

What a precious drawing.  If you can produce this good work BEFORE a lesson, I anxiously await what you will produce after the  lesson.

:thankyou: :thankyou: Gosh, Thank you so much Denise and Mea for your lovely comments about my baby shoes drawing.  All I can say, is that I really enjoyed the exercise for I have been "art" starved for quite a while now and am so eager to get back into the swing of things. Unfortunately most of my free time is of a night as I still go down to my daughter's daily to help out where I can and of course, getting up in age, my eyes aren't what they used to be but what the heck, I will carry on even if I have to use binoculars!!!!

I certainly don't think you need to follow this lesson Patricia, you can do it already :heeha: :congrats:

PS - I am having hassles getting this class video rendered - it has already taken more than 2 days and is only at 48% so may need to shift the release date on a bit more, sorry about the delay :-\

:thankyou:  Nolan for such a lovely comment and  :urwelcome:  to you for you have taught me everything I know about drawing thus far.  However, I still need to have you tutor me for every time I do a drawing lesson with you, I pick up something new that I hadn't heard about or seen. Besides, I just love and enjoy every minute of the lessons. Thank you Nolan.
