Chamois of course...  I can be so literal   :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:

Val, your charcoal is very nice.  The light reflexion in the vase looks so real.
Cheers, Annie

Ta ever so Tony, you are a sweety.  ;)   Sadly some craziness has descended upon me once again and my artwork is at a standstill. I hope to have the current issues resolved shortly and get back to a saner level of living.  :crazy2:

Thanks much Patricia, next time I dive into my charcoal I'll have to post a before and after photo!  :o FUN?!!! WEEEeeeeeeeeee  :2funny:

I appreciate your lovely comment Annie, I believe this is the easiest reflection I have ever accomplished! So nice to know it's a good one!  ;D

Thank you much Nina.  :flowers:

Thanks Bellarina, sometimes keeping it simple is the best.  O0

O.K., VAL, you've talked me into using my vine and charcoal sticks I've had for a long time and never got to use!  ::)
It's among all the stuff I got to help Emily get into art 3 years ago!  But she's a natural artist and has gone off on her own creative pursuits and left me in the dust!  (I know, charcoal is messy, but not dusty!)

Guess what I found during the wee morning hours? Two bits of charcoal!!!  :heeha: Since I'm not allowed to use my pastels in bed anymore.... and charcoal isn't really dusty... is it?      :eyesclosed:

::) This was just a bit of fun and gave me a chance to loosen up after all my fights with "The Dog".  :tickedoff:    ;D
With whom I am still at odds with, but think I'm winning.  :fight:

Just some quick sketching, hatching, and laying in charcoal... smudging and smearing... I love the S and S bit!

One word of caution.... might not want to use charcoal while sitting wrapped in white sheets..... the black hand print on the white pillow case...dead give away.  :nono:      >:D

Cheers, Val

Oh, Val, looks like you have some new toys.  Fun painting (charcing???)  Is charcoal a painting or a drawing?

Whatever, I love it.

    Lovely charcoal drawing Val. I feel a sense of "freedom" and abandon when looking at charcoal drawings for it seems as though one is not really fighting with tonal values or does one?  Having said all that, I am wondering when you get to sleep or were you on the night watch again?

Mea, I look at charcoal as drawing. Some opinions may differ as it can be manipulated with brushes, rags, etc. ... but then, so can graphite pencil!  >:D    ;)

Actually I was in the process of clearing out some accumulated debris in my pencil box and I found a couple of bits at the bottom of the box. Just the feel of it in my hand....and it's like an attack of the retarded hand! It just does what it wants!  :crazy2:    :2funny:
