Louisa,

I started in oil and much prefer it for the ease of fixing a mistake and the richness of color.  The downside is that it can take months (more for white paint)  to dry before you can put a finish on it.

I use watercolor when I want to have something to give to someone right away.  Watercolor is hard for me to control (Dennis makes it look so easy, though.)

Like anything else, practice, practice, practice and you'll get the hang of it.

From what I have seen so far of your work, you'll be good with any medium.

Oh Mea you are such a sweety pie to think I will be able to manage all the different mediums, I appreciate it. I think I will try water colours as soon as I am comfortable with oils and acrylics.

Oh my, Doina, your rose is coming right along!  It's beautiful.  Look forward to the finished painting.  Lovely shadings.

Love this Doina.  You are doing great and I love  the pretty edges on your petals.  Here is mine.  The camera captured it as darker than it is:

Lynn, this is a beautiful rose regardless of camera taking. Isn't it frustrating when camera does not take the real colors? Congratulations on yours. It is beautiful!!  :flowers: :flowers:
