Thank you Mea, Bella and Nolan.

Nolan, I took your advice and made changes.  Sorry it took a while but I was away on vacation.   The photo might not be as good as I like but the changes made a big difference and I am much happier with this.

Thank you Jennylynn & Danielle.  We had a great vacation thanks!  Took a cruise to Bahamas.  It was fun.

Today I added a cat portrait to my sketch book..  Please let me know where it needs improvement.

Mary Lou,

You cat sketch is lovely.  The whiskers seem a bit overpowering; otherwise, I say you did very well.

Thanks Mea, yes the whiskers are out of control... :2funny:   But I was trying to get the mouth and nose area to look right and struggled with it. (Completely disregarded whiskers) Still I can't put my finger on what is amiss with it..but it bothers me.   I changed this area three times and this was the best result I had.

MaryLou have you taken any of the classes with eyes?

You need that reflection on the bottom.

I just did a class on human eyes.   It was a while ago.  I just went by the reflection in the eyes that were in the photo.

nice little practice sketches MaryLou. If you want to do a drawing a day, you will however want to choose less intricate subject as these two are a lot of work for a day drawing. If you choose simpler subjects, like what Zilpa is doing, then you will be able to work on the details etc., without having to spend the whole day drawing O0
