I had such a good time drawing these berries.  Any suggestions on improvement would be greatly appreciated.

You'd think these rocks were logs, because I sure was stumped by them.  After three days on them its time to move on.  Hoping I will improve by time.  Please comment where I might improve this.

Your second attempt at the ball is a ton better, but you have nailed it with the berry drawing, well done :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:
The big secret to drawing the rocks is getting the different tonal values on each plane different enough. Getting this right takes practice as your eye needs to be trained to spot small tonal value changes, hence these tonal exercises. At this stage I am happy with your rocks, continue with the next drawing. Later in the course, you can revisit this one and you eye will be able to spot those differences better O0

Bellarina,

I'll comment on each one in one posting.

Rocks - I had trouble with these, too.  As Nolan says, gotta watch that tonal value thing.

Berries - Highlight gave them a nice shine.

Ball - yes, the second one is much better.

Seascape - Love what you did with your eraser.

Nice work.

:heeha: You're off on a running start!  O0   The more you practice/draw, the easier and better it gets. You are doing great kiddo!  :cheering: :cheering:

:thankyou: for your comments.  As for the rocks drawing, I found it difficult not getting my drawing lines too dark and ending up using my eraser to try to soften them, perhaps I used it too much, lol.  After looking at Shirls drawing of the rocks, which I think looked great, I guess I shouldn't rely on my printed copy from the PDF because my printer aparently printed it to light and the lightest parts of the copy didn't look like there where any lines at all.
I ended up using a 4H and 6H pencil for the lightest lines but still erased them to much.  Again thanks for your comments and I'm ready to start brewing a pot of coffee and begin the next lesson.

the best reference is working off the computer screen as you know the reproduction of the tonal values will be correct O0
