Lisa,   so sorry I missed this.  What a gorgeous painting.  It must have been like a prayer for her as you painted it.  You can feel the Holy Spirit in it as must have she.  So sorry for your loss.

:yippee:      Lisa this is a lovely painting, the only thing that bothers me is the mountain directly behind the house. It appears to be touching the house.  Maybe you want to put some flat grass on part of the left side of the house.  That would probably give some distance.    Hope this helps

Thanks Danielle,     The hill behind the house looked weird to me too.    But I was so dialed in to painting what I saw so I left it.   I think your suggestion is very helpful.  I'll see what I can do with that

I haven't painted in a long time but my New Years resolution is to take some time each week and get back into it.  I saw Dennis's live pastel class on painting sunsets and it was great to  watch a class again.  This is the Bashakill , just a few miles from my house.  We have two pair of nesting bald eagles that live there.  I'm posting this even though it's not my best work so I can keep track of my improvement as I start to paint on a more regular basis. I found the it hard to differentiate where the clear ice stopped and the water started.

This is gorgeous Lisa.  O0   Love the colourings and the scene is so peaceful. Too cold for me though...  :cold:

Great piece of work.

Cheers, Val

Lisa Gale, good to see you back again.

Beautiful sunset.  Hard to believe it's pastel.

Keep at it.

Very beautiful, Gale!

I had to look up where this was after I saw "kill" in the name. We're practically neighbors. You in the Catskills and me up in Troy. I figured you were in New York. Tons of "kills" here. For those who don't know, kill is the Dutch equivalent for stream or creek.

Hey Steve,   Nice meeting a neighbor on here.  If you ever come down this way stop by the Bashakill.  They have a nice winery and our group does the eagle watch every year and track he new eaglets each year

I'll let you know if I'm ever in your neck of the woods. We don't have any eagles up here. But we've got tons of falcons. I see them a lot behind our house.
