Lisa this is a fabulous painting. I love the symbology of travelling a dark road toward the light and I'm sure your friend will gather a lot of support from just looking at this. Excellent stuff!

Lisa,

So sorry I messed this earlier.

It's a warm and spiritual painting.  How thoughtful of you to do that for your friend.

Hello all my PB friends.  The friend I painted The cross painting for pasted away this week.  She had fought as hard as she could and I had an opportunity to sit with her for sometime while she was still able to have visitors and I brought her a fuzzy blanket to sleep with in the hospital.  When I arrived at the funeral I was handed a prayer card and on one side was a prayer and the other side was my painting.  In the eulogy the family mentioned that the painting had meant so much and brought such comfort to her.  The gift was meant to comfort her but one of her last acts was to show me how much the painting meant to her, a gift meant to comfort me.

So sorry for your loss Lisa. What an exceptional gift from your friend, I imagine she'd have grinned ear to ear to see your reaction. Well done Lisa, well done.  :1hug:

  thank you Val, Mea , Natalie and Sharon.   I am so glad that I was able to share this with my friends here.  Your are dead on Val.   We were always competing and she definitely caught me by surprise.  She didn't even hint to it the last time I spoke with her and I KNOW she was grinning saying gotcha!  My husband said the look on my face was priceless, he said you could see ever emotion cross my face and the final realization of the love we both shared.  Thank goodness I had stuffed BOTH pockets with Dunkin donuts napkins!

Lisa gale- I am so moved by this painting and what it will mean to your friend. You are a friend indeed! Then when Dennis posted that reminder of the song " the old rugged cross" it just gave me chills.

Hi my PB friends .  Someone asked me to do a painting from a photo they took in Scotland.    I need some help with it any suggestions would be appreciate.   I've got two focal points   :o.  I tried to darken up the house a little so the mountain would be a little more obvious and then I put some yellow in front to balance out the purple. And let me just say it was hard for me to do this because I didn't like both things running right down the middle.  So any thoughts on how to improve it?
.  The original photo is in my pastel folder

Lisa Gale,

I find it hard to do a painting of something I have absolutely no relationship to, so I understand how hard this must be.

Too bad the mountain and the house are lined up as they are.  e know what would make a better composition, but that would not be the scene your friend photoed.

Hope someone more experienced can help you.

Good luck.
