Lynn, I was so afraid that you might spoil the painting by adding to it but my word, you have done a PHENOMENAL job and it has really added interest to the already beautiful painting. You are indeed AN ARTIST and if I may add, an excellent one!!!  Can't wait for Wednesday to hear what your tutor has to say.

Val you are a scream!  I am still laughing about the dog relieving himself on the right hand column ... you are hilarious  :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:

HA! Patricia, I may ruin it still.  Am still adding little things back in those shadows like a few potted plants etc.  Am not out of the woods yet.  Am going to add some strings of light that are always at that coffee house.  Thanks Win!!!!!!!!! I've never had anything be triple fabulous :heeha:   You are so sweet.

Lynn, I am holding thumbs!!! Having said that, you are such a wonderful artist that you can pull anything off with success as you have already shown by adding in that waiter which made such a huge difference.  I just remembered that tonight is the night that your tutor sees your changes.  Can't wait to hear what he had to say about them.   Patricia

Well, I went to class last night and Alan liked the changes.  He has such a good eye for composition that he had more thoughts.  He asked that I get rid of the hard horizontal edge of the grass, lighten the sky and consolidate the greens of the trees so here is the final.  It has really been a good experience.

Oh, my goodness, Lynn. This is so beautiful. I wish I were inside this painting!

That sounds exciting Lynn, making your own pastel paper! You'll have to show me how it's done.... maybe more supplies to shop for!  :heeha:      ;D

Lynn, what did your tutor say about the changes you made?  I guess I am being nosey but I love to hear positive comments which is so well deserved in your case for you did a magnificent job of the additions especially the waiter. I was so nervous for you when you mentioned that you were adding to the already fantastic painting. I know that he would be blown away by your painting but it is exciting for us to hear too.

Sorry, forgot to put in what I was going to say about the painting!  :crazy2:   Breaking up the grass line was excellent, great idea there. The trees look even better (which is hard to believe). I had to look at the previous version to compare the sky...but yes I agree on thatas well. Definitely a banner job.

Hi Patricia--Alan is a man of few words I think.  He thought that the doors in the dark area, as he had suggested, really helped and was pleased with the addition of the waiter, the extra person and a few plants.  He thought it really made the focal point clear.  Thanks Val, I do think he had good suggestions! Check out his website, talking about detail, WOW

:heeha: Oh my stars & garters!!! Lynn, his work is ..... I'm gobsmacked!  :faint: I simply must see some of his work while I'm there. How fortunate you are to have the opportunity to work with him. How many more lessons will you have with him? I can't wait to see what you take on next!  :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:
