My new giraults arrived today and I just LOVE all the great skin tones!!!  Had to try and finish the old man with them and YES Dennis I did fiddle some but just saw some things that needed attention.  I am basically finished but spectra fix left dots so will have to go back and touch up background.  Do you see other things?

Thanks so much Ray and Dennis.  Ray, this is 12x16 on Wallis sanded paper.  I used old grumbachers, mount visions, unisons and my new giraults, all considered  soft but the giraults are probably the hardest of the softs.  I used pastel pencils for the eyes only.

Fabulous Lynn, glad you showed us all the steps,  very interresting subject.  I see just a bit of light under the left eye above the cheek (our left), which may have been caused by you fixative.
Frame it.  :flowers: :congrats:  :
Pastel is such a wonderfull medium.

Thanks Danielle--It might be the fixative but also I noticed on the face that I would apply pastel and the next day it almost looks like it sunk in or dropped off because the color was now more bleached out than had been.  I am going to do a bit of touch up.

Congratulations-beautiful workmanship!

Maybe with the sanded paper and humidity moisture was a factor in some areas getting bleached out?

Nina, Val and Christina-Thanks so much for the uplifting comments.  Been down recently about my art and feeling stuck and wondering why I am even painting.  Not like me really.  Been thinking about taking some figure drawing classes so I can learn to paint from life and maybe get a little boost.   Your comments have really helped today.
