Anita,

Your West Coast Farm pastel is lovely.  It has a mistiness about it.  Sad and lonely way out there.

Patricia,

Wow, I only thought of big animals like lions and tigers as a threat in Africa.  Sounds like you had quite an interesting life there.

Thanks for sharing that story.

    Anita, you did a fine job on the West Coast Farm. Yes, it was a lovely scene and I enjoyed it immensely for apart from the painting, it brought back many happy memories of my life in South Africa.

Oh! Mea, I have so many stories of close encounters with deadly poisonous snakes and the strange thing is that I could never kill one but had to get other people to kill them.   My life in S.A. which as I said earlier,  really enriched and blessed me tremendously.

Mea, I forgot to mention that lions, leopards etc are only found in the Reserves and not in the urban areas so we had no fear of them but snakes, lizards etc are everywhere and as I say the monkeys are very prevalent in the KwaZulu coastal areas where I lived.  Yes, an interesting life to be sure.    Patricia

Loved everyone's paintings.  Karen and Natalie yours were stunning.  Patricia, I could smell Africa when I looked at your work.  JennyLynn, congrats on being featured in the newsletter.  Thank you to Dennis, Patricia and Nina for your comments on mine.

Jill doesn't it make you "homesick" for what was?  Patricia
