Gracious, all my fellow students artists, I am  :run: to catch up to you!! Such a marvellous display of hair drawings  :not_worthy:  !!
It goes to show what a tremendous teacher Nolan is. . . . . . . .
I live to draw and paint, it a good thing that I don't have to draw and paint to live!

Duh, Lynn, we used the template face that Nolan gave us.  All we had to add was the hair and a bit of graphite shading.

Two victories in one message, Patricia.  You did well on both hair drawings and you got them both attached to the same message.

It's going to be a great day!

Actually, Patricia, my husband said the hair was not dark enough so I upped the contrast when I scanned the drawing.

Is that cheating?

Thanks, Harald.

I want to try more hair styles.  It'll be good practice for filling up short blocks of time, like while riding the bus.  Maybe I'll do a whole "back-of-the-head" series.

Patricia, excellent job with straight and curly hair. Well done.

:thankyou: :thankyou: :thankyou: :thankyou: :thankyou: :thankyou:  Nina, Lynnp, Bev, Mea, Jill and Dorothy for your lovely comments.

Lynn, if only we could draw as well as Nolan ... I would be drooling at the mouth .... Nolan supplied the models and we only had to put the hair on as Mea said.

Mea, with regard to the way you darkened the hair, I would put it down to "artistic licence" since that is a large umbrella emcompassing many tricks of the trade.   :2funny: :2funny:

Dorothy my curly hair is a mess but I tried and as I said, one has to have a heck of a lot of patience in drawing the curls.  I don't know if I have all that amount of patience anymore ... I used to but as I have aged, it seems to wear thin at times.

Anyway, thank you one and all for your positive comments which are always appreciated.  Patricia

Fantastic hair studies!! You are all amazing.I am impressed by the speed at which you all work .It is taking me a long time to finish my portrait.I find the pencil drawing is very time consuming and am having problem to get the very dark values.  :painting:  :painting:
