I have just discovered a cool app that connects buyers and sellers.
The way it works is that you load your paintings into their system.
All paintings are sold for the same price of $250
The customer then installs the app, takes a photo of the wall they want a painting on.
The app then shows them your paintings on the wall.
If they like it, they can buy directly through the app.
You then get 80% of the sale amount

Great for lower priced painting and quick / impulse sales

Go take a look at ArtTwo50

That looks very interesting! Thanks for the post, Nolan. Now, if I can just paint something worth $250.00! :)

your paintings are worth more than that C, but $250 is a nice value to keep the turnover rolling as it is big enough to make a difference to your budget, but not big enough to break the buyers budget.

At $250 less 30% commission you need to sell in volume to make a living

So don't add paintings that have taken a very long time to paint. You need to be able to paint at least two a day of the type of paintings you add here.

Yes, you would have to be fast to make a living, but it would be sooo exciting to sell a piece of your own work!  I think that has to be a serious confidence booster! People(outside PB) can compliment what you do all day long, but until someone is willing to pay for it, you will always question the quality of your work. :) One of these days...

the best way to keep the quality while still painting quickly is to stay away from complex subjects and to paint on smaller canvasses

I know I feel more confident working on 1/4 and 1/8 imperial. Put me in front of anything larger and I'm like a deer in the headlights!        ;D
