:thankyou: Mea and Cyril!  Mea, it's an old photo for ref and so can't post it, but after pondering it for a few hours I think I have in mind where to go from here, should be a short session tomorrow to finish it.

In that case, I'm withholding comment until I see what you're going to do....

I can't get anything else to stick to the paper..  I tried to add some of the sky color to the reflection, also got rid of the "soldiers" I'm so fond of it seems.  Also punched up the clouds a bit... any suggestions before I call this one done?

Looks terrific Steven, but if you want to add things, then how about some birds flying and perhaps a boat in the water with some people fishing, a dog on the far bank. . . . .. . . . .  :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:
It's done!!! sign it, frame it and hang it on a wall!! Ya done good, my friend, ya done good!!!!!!

:thankyou: for all the input!  Bev, baby steps!  ;)  I am going to try some sanded surfaces next, that should allow for better detail and more layering, also have colorfix gesso stuff that will be right in between, still finding my way here  :)

Heh, lots of enthusiasm anyways, hope the skill grows with practice!  I definitely like the medium, it can be so expressive! :yippee:

I took the monochromatic w/c lesson and applied some clear colorfix which basically made the monochromatic w/c an under painting, not sure if I want to leave the building loose like it is or detail it a bit more...

Wow, now that I have this in posted form the lower right corner sure looks bathed in light, now I need to figure out how to make that agree with the rest of the lighting... oh, and I gradated the sky at Alice's recommendation from my last couple pastels...

Nice and bright Steven, but the clouds look a little cotton wooly. I think Dennis might have mentioned in the clouds watercolours classes that having the clouds going out of the painting (ie some crossing your picture boundary) is a way to show that there is something beyond. It also makes them look a bit less cotton wooly.

But nice attempt just the same.

Batman.
I will have the chance to achieve perfection, when and only when I can remember the future.
