STEVEN wrote: Pencils and pastels work like what Nolan did on the onion with a stylus, where he etched a line then rubbed over it and the pencil left a white line since the graphite passed over the dent.  If you press too hard with the pencil the pastel won't fall in the pencil indentations.  That can be used for a nice texture to create a feathers effect, it makes it interesting,

Ah, Steven.  now I get it.  I'm going to practice doing that.  Thanks.

Mea,  you make me smile.  Good drawing of the bird.  You are one brave lady to play with pastels on a moving bus.  Next you will be telling us you are teaching art to all your fellow riders to help you all make the most of the trip.

Hmmm, Jill, good idea, but most of the riders want to sleep.

I do an art class whenever I go back to my home town for vacation.  The neighbor ladies and I do a paint and wine night.  Such fun.

Here's the latest in my Drawing While Riding the Bus series - a hibiscus and bud.

This was a particularly bumpy ride today, but I am pleased with what I was able to do.  It's so much better than the same hibiscus photo I tried to draw 2 months ago.

All suggestions for improvement gratefully accepted.

Thanks, Jennylynn.  It's nice to have the time on the bus to work on improving my drawing.  You folks inspire me so much.

Thanks, Jillh.  Glad you like it.  Guess I'm a multi-tasker.   Have to make use of every available block of time.

Well done Mea.  O0   It does get challenging at times when the 'studio' keeps moving doesn't it?   :2funny:

Thanks, Val.  Yes, a moving studio is a challenge.  Do you draw on a rocking boat?

I say we fit you with a gyro-stabilizer, that way you won't wibble when you wobble on the bus!  ;)  Ask Val, she probably has one, or at least she has one for her wine glass! :2funny:
